Still Here

It’s been a few days since I’ve posted on here.  That’s because it’s hard coming back from vacation!  After a whirlwind two weeks in New York, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and D.C., I’m a bit rusty.  But I’ll get this thing going again real soon!

Darren’s Thoughts On Andy’s Book

Darren Plummer, a church planter in College Park, recently reviewed the latest book by Andy Stanley, still hot off the press.  I haven’t read it yet and I know you’re all anxious for a review of it, since Stanley is the best preacher and best writer of books about ministry, so I figured I’d point to this review until I devour the book and tell you all about it here.  Besides, Darren and I have very similar tastes.  He’s even a Dallas Cowboys fan!  Anyway, you can check it out here.

Blogosphere Break

For the next couple weeks, I’m taking a break from cyberspace.  We need breaks from things to recharge and refocus, and that includes blogging.  So Carolyn and I are taking some time off together these next few days.

Even though I’m checking out of the blogosphere for several days, I didn’t want y’all getting bored.  So I’ve programmed some posts to appear each day.  They include thoughts on Bible passages I’ve been reflecting on lately, links to some videos and blogs, thoughts about different things, and other random stuff.  There’s even an interview with a special guest preacher who will be appearing soon at CrossWay, so be sure to keep checking in!

I’ll check in from time to time–I mean, I’m not going all legalistic or anything.  But if you leave a comment and don’t get a quick response, now you know why.

Let me leave you with one question: What is it you’re doing a lot that–even though you might really enjoy it–it would help to recharge your batteries to take a break for a little while?

A Quick Explanation

If you clicked on “CrossWay On Purpose” in that last post, it might look like nothing happened. But it did. Try it again and scroll down and you’ll see.

(The link took you to all the entries in the category “CrossWay On Purpose,” of which that post itself was the latest entry, so the screen might look the same until you scroll down. Clear as mud?)

Doh!

Aw man, I just discovered that I totally forgot to put pictures in this morning’s post about our first day in Paris.  I’ll work on that this week and re-post it.

Search Box

Just so ya know, there’s now a search box on this blog.  It’s located in the sidebar on the right, at the bottom, under the archives.  Now you can type in a word or phrase or whatever, and it’ll search for it within the blog.  That way you can find out if I’ve been talking smack about you.

Who’s That?

The church I started pastoring this week has a preschool called the Training Station.  I have a feeling it’s going to be a great source of inspiration and entertainment.

A few minutes ago I got to sit in on the Bible story that Ms. Grace taught.  It was great!  She really has a gift for talking to kids in a way they understand, and she had props to go along with her story.  I think I’ll try to make it to that every week!

During the Bible story, Ms. Grace sat up front on the platform and the kids sat on the floor in front of her.  I sat in a chair behind them all.  Every once in a while one of the kids would look over at me, obviously wondering who I was and what I was doing there.

After the story, one of the little boys leaned over and whispered something to his teacher.  The teacher told Ms. Grace that he had something to say to her.  So she asked what it was, and the little guy pointed at me and said real loud, “Who’s that?”

Whew

Cyberspace.   I totally do NOT want to be a cyberastronaut.  I’ve been out there for a week or two and have been without cyberoxygen.

I attempted to switch over to GoDaddy.com without messing up this blog, so I could set up email there.  It didn’t work.  Nothing there worked.  I think I’ll lie down here at WordPress.com forever.

At least nathanhyde.com redirects to nathanhyde.wordpress.com, but it’d still be nice if I could eliminate the….nevermind, I don’t even feel like explaining it.

If any of you are still out there, thanks for checking back here.  My blog hits went from 167 to 0 in a couple days.  Ahh… so glad to have my feet planted back here on cyberearth.

A Little Down Time

Well, I guess transitions have these weird times.  For the next week or so my Internet access will be limited, so my blog posts will not be as regular.  However, I’ll do my best to at least keep my weekly posts from the England/France trip going.

Once my computer situation is resolved, though, I’ll bring the blog back in full force, and hopefully better than ever!

Yet Again

Oig.

Just found out it will take a couple days for this site to be automatically forwarded, so in the meantime it will be parked at nathanhyde.wordpress.com

Sorry for all the confusion!
