Crab Legs & Baseball–How Good Can It Get?

Saturday was such a great day. Carolyn and I slept in, had lunch, and ran some errands. We stopped in at a birthday celebration for Pastor Daryl’s almost-five-year-old-daughter, then headed to Chinatown Buffet in Salisbury for all you can eat crab legs. Need I say more?

From there we went to the Shorebirds game. Their best hitter, Brandon Tripp, nailed a serious blast over the right field wall early on, and Lakewood never caught up. The final score was 6-4. Tripp also made the best catch I think I’ve ever seen, diving in left center to just barely snag what should have been a guaranteed extra-base hit. It was a pretty good game, in spite of several errors that cost Delmarva some runs, and one inning when the Shorebirds loaded the bases with no outs and couldn’t manage to score. Late in the game they brought in this one reliever who brought some serious heat. It’s too bad they weren’t posting the pitchers’ speeds, because this guy had to be hurling in the mid-90s. My eyes could barely follow the ball!

After the game the team put on a good fireworks show. Whenever they do fireworks, which is several times a season, they’re always really good. The only problem is the loud music they crank out during the fireworks. I had Jimmy Buffett stuck in my head until church this morning!

Ahh, what a day….
