The second core commitment we make as members of CrossWay Church is that we will love God by developing intimacy with Him through daily spiritual habits.
Making this commitment means that on a regular basis I will:
- Read the Bible to know God better.
- Read the Bible to hear what God has to say to me.
- Talk with God and give Him thanks and praise.
- Talk with God and share with Him the things that are on my heart and mind.
- Ask God to help me with the various things I’m facing.
- Ask God to meet the needs of other people.
- Spend time simply being consciously aware of God’s presence.
- Write down things that God is saying to me.
- Write down things that God is doing in my life.
- Celebrate my salvation in Christ and my relationship with God.
This is an open-ended list, but should regularly include at least all these things.
It’s important to point out here that we make this commitment not because it’s a rule or to try to score points with God, but because we love God and want to grow in intimacy with Him.
