Last night was the last hurrah for our softball team, the Green Machine. We lost our second game in the double elimination playoff tournament. We played Mariner Bethel, a team we hadn’t played during the regular season. We batted first and scored three runs, but it went downhill from there. We had a lot of fun, but it was another one that wasn’t even close.
The personal low point for me was when I was playing shortstop and charged a slow grounder that a girl had hit right to me. It went right under my legs. It was terrible. And missing that out cost the team several runs.
We lost again, but we also had lots of fun as usual!
It’s kind of sad that the season is over, but I think we were all getting worn out. Plus it’s pretty late in the year to keep the season going, especially now that lots of people are back in school. This season is easily the most fun I’ve ever had playing on a softball team. Everyone on the team had a great attitude, and I’d happily take these same teammates every season!
