  • Ocean City Date Night

Tonight Carolyn and I had an old-fashioned teenager-style boardwalk date.  For the first time in our married lives, we hit the arcades on the boardwalk in Ocean City.  It was fun!  We played skee ball, which was the best part.  Carolyn played one of those games where you move the claw which grabs some random Continue reading

As she was leaving, one little two-year-old girl kept saying very slowly, carefully, and clearly: Continue reading

  • Church Ministry Lessons from the World of Secular Education

Carolyn was gone for a couple days this week at a conference near Baltimore for kindergarten teachers.  When she got back I was looking through some of the materials she picked up while she was there.  There was one page that really jumped out at me.  It was about how children learn, but it read Continue reading

  • Friday

Today will be a different kind of day.  At 7:00 I’m going to the mayor’s prayer breakfast in Ocean City.  (I don’t know whether or not this actually has anything to do with the mayor.  One year in Berlin we forgot to invite the mayor to the mayor’s prayer breakfast!  Someone called him a couple Continue reading
